January 2020 started off an incredibly positive year with our numbers hitting an all time high. Throughout January and February, we offered additional services to the local community and schools. We had transition years attend private fitness classes as a part of their PE curriculum and a local community centre taking part in spin classes to promote physical activity as part of their course. We also marked Pancake Tuesday by giving out free protein pancakes to our members.
Unfortunately, due to lockdown 1.0 we had to close our premises for 3 months, during this time we took the opportunity to extend our appreciation to all front-line workers. We were delighted to be able to acquire some PPE equipment to donate to our local nursing home. We continued to encourage members to keep active at home by posting weekly home workouts on our social media platform.
We were delighted to re-open our doors to all our loyal customers on June 29th. We ensured that every safety measure was put in place to keep everyone safe in our premises while working out. Every member of staff played a vital role in making our members feel safe with a bi-weekly Gymitize deep clean and Xtreme CSC masks available for members to purchase.
Additional restrictions came into effect in October and led us to decrease numbers in our group fitness classes to abide by the 2-metre rule. We were incredibly pleased all our classes were always at full capacity. During September we celebrated National Fitness Day where all our members got involved and some great prizes were up for grabs.
Upon entering level 3 restrictions all group training had to be cancelled but fortunately we were allowed remain open for individual training only, we were blown away by the support and adherence to our guidelines from all our members.
We reopened from lockdown 2.0 on the 1st of December with an influx of happy members who were all delighted to be back into a controlled, safe and positive environment. Everyone was ready and eager to commence individual training again. The morale amongst team and members at Xtreme Thurles was fantastic.
We ended our year on a positive high by trying to promote Christmas cheer. Our 12 days of Christmas was a great success and numerous prizes were won.
Now let’s get 2021 off to a strong and healthy start!
